Global Bank Workforce Authentication Case Study

This case study details the implementation of a passwordless multi-factor authentication (MFA) platform by 1Kosmos for a global bank. The objective was to enhance the workforce authentication experience while addressing the rising threats of account takeover attacks. The bank aimed to reduce the number of authenticators in use to comply with MFA requirements. 1Kosmos was chosen to streamline authentication processes across various platforms, including VPNs and applications, thereby eliminating vulnerabilities associated with traditional MFA methods. The study outlines how the integration was achieved using 50 out-of-the-box connectors and a robust API framework, allowing users to log in with their preferred authentication methods. The passwordless MFA approach not only improved security by removing reliance on passwords but also enhanced user experience through a frictionless login process initiated by scanning a QR code. The results indicated a significant improvement in user adoption and a reduction in identity theft risks associated with phishing attacks.
