Case Study on Sunwater's Application Integration

This case study outlines Sunwater's approach to enhancing operational efficiency through application integration and the deployment of Safe Software's FME. Sunwater, a bulk water provider in Queensland, faced challenges with siloed systems affecting accurate asset management. The upgrade to SAP S/4HANA introduced the Geographical Enablement Framework (GEF), improving productivity for field staff. However, inconsistencies in asset location data revealed the need for better integration solutions. Sunwater implemented FME to facilitate integration between SAP and ArcGIS, allowing mobile access to accurate asset locations and improving task allocation. The case study also discusses the sustainability of enterprise application integration practices, emphasizing FME's role in centralizing data transformation workflows and enhancing data quality. Training and ongoing support from 1Spatial were essential for successful implementation.
