Self-Service App for NBA Fantasy Daily Analysis

This case study presents a solution developed for NBA fantasy sports analysis through a self-service application. The objective is to convert daily NBA player statistics into fantasy points and provide timely injury reports, enhancing the decision-making process for fantasy managers. The study outlines the challenges faced by fantasy managers, particularly the limitations of existing platforms like the ESPN Fantasy Sports App, which primarily offers total fantasy points without detailed category-based analysis. It details the workflow that utilizes an API to extract player performance data, transform it into fantasy points, and generate a CSV file for distribution. The solution includes a four-step process for fantasy point conversion and injury reporting, ensuring that users receive updated information via email. The application allows for analysis over multiple days, providing users with insights into player performance trends. This tool aims to improve the competitive edge of fantasy managers by delivering critical information quickly and efficiently.
