Fiber Network Management System Implementation

This document is a case study detailing the implementation of a fiber network management system for a wholesale dark fiber provider managing over 1,500 route miles across multiple US states. The provider faced significant challenges with their existing infrastructure, which relied on two separate platforms, OSPInsight and CrescentLink. These systems resulted in inefficiencies, lack of visibility, and inconsistent data. To address these issues, the company sought a comprehensive solution that could support planning, design, engineering, construction, and asset management while consolidating all fiber network data into a unified platform. After a rigorous selection process, 3-GIS was chosen for its scalability, integration capabilities, and expertise in fiber network management. The implementation plan includes configuring the 3-GIS | Web system to meet operational needs and migrating data from the existing platforms to ensure a seamless transition and improved operational efficiency.
