This case study details the implementation of a new fiber network management system by a major government-owned utility provider in the United States. The utility faced the challenge of expanding its fiber network by 3,500 miles within six years and sought a solution to replace its legacy management system, which was inadequate for their operational needs. After releasing a request for proposal (RFP), the utility selected 3-GIS to provide a robust system along with services such as data migration, implementation, training, and system integrations. The initial rollout involved 100 Web users and 100 Mobile users, utilizing an on-premises solution with dedicated servers for development, production, and failover. The migration process included transferring over 10,000 records to the new data model, supported by extensive training for users. The implementation of 3-GIS software has improved the management and operational efficiency of the utility's fiber network, enabling automation and enhanced support services.
