Summary
This document is a case study detailing the collaboration between GasLINE and 3-GIS to enhance fibre-optic network management in Germany. GasLINE, a prominent provider of fibre-optic infrastructure, has been operating for over 25 years, managing a vast network of over 32,000 km. The case study outlines the challenges faced by GasLINE, including the need to eliminate inefficiencies in workflow continuity and improve data transparency and quality. To address these challenges, GasLINE aims to deploy an additional 5,500 km of fibre within three years, aligning with federal and state objectives for fibre access expansion. The solution presented is 3-GIS | Web, a GIS-first platform that integrates Esri™ ArcGIS data and CAD drawings, enabling better management and reporting of network assets. The case study emphasizes the importance of real-time data access for stakeholders and the benefits of using a single system of record to streamline operations and enhance reporting capabilities.
