This document is a research report detailing an efficacy study conducted by LXD Research on the 95 Phonics Core Program (95 PCP) implemented in Red Clay, Delaware. The study aimed to investigate the impact of 95 PCP on literacy outcomes for 4th and 5th graders. Nine schools participated, utilizing the program as core instruction. The analysis was based on i-Ready assessment data collected from the Beginning-of-Year (BOY) to the Middle-of-Year (MOY) assessments. The findings indicated significant improvements, with a notable increase in the percentage of students achieving on or above grade level. Specifically, the report highlights that 15% more 4th graders and 12% more 5th graders were on or above grade level at the MOY compared to the BOY. Additionally, the percentage of students considered three grade levels below decreased significantly. The report provides detailed statistics on student performance across various domains, including overall scores, phonics, comprehension, and vocabulary, demonstrating the effectiveness of the 95 PCP curriculum.
