Efficacy Study Summary of Phonics Lesson Library

This technical report presents an efficacy study of the 95 Phonics Lesson Library (95 PLL) conducted in Ohio, focusing on 4th and 5th graders. The study involved two treatment schools with 121 students and three comparison schools with 129 students. It analyzes the impact of 95 PLL on student literacy through assessments using Acadience and MAP Growth scores from the beginning to the end of the academic year 2023-2024. The findings indicate that 95 PLL students showed significant growth, with 26% of 4th graders and 19% of 5th graders achieving On/Above Benchmark status by the end of the year. The report details the methodologies used, including comparisons of proficiency rates and statistical analyses, revealing that 95 PLL students outperformed their peers in the comparison group.
