This document is a technical report detailing a storage solution implemented for a leading manufacturer and exporter of knitted garments located in Tirupur. The customer faced challenges with their conventional ground stacking method, which hindered accessibility and accountability of materials, while also struggling to meet a dispatch requirement of 30 MT per day. The report outlines the requirement for a storage solution capable of housing 500 MT of material, with 50% allocated for raw materials and the remaining for semi-finished goods. The proposed solution involved a custom-made cage pallet and a G+2 selective pallet racking (SPR) system, which collectively achieved a capacity of 2,070 yarn bags, 3,375 fabric rolls, and shelving for 1,050 boxes. The project was completed within 8 weeks and resulted in improved selectivity and optimized storage volume through vertical height utilization, enhancing retrieval times for various diameters of knitting rolls.
