This research article presents an ecosystem orchestration framework designed for the implementation of digital product passports within the context of a circular economy. The study highlights the significance of digital product passports as essential tools that facilitate the exchange of data among various supply chain actors, thereby supporting informed decision-making throughout product life cycles. It draws on insights from multiple case studies involving product manufacturers and their suppliers, service partners, customers, and recycling companies. The authors identify 16 practices and five orchestration mechanisms that are crucial at different stages of ecosystem maturity. The framework aims to guide practitioners in contextualizing and utilizing digital product passports effectively. Furthermore, the article discusses the current challenges and opportunities related to the operationalization of digital product passports, emphasizing the need for further research to address existing data gaps and enhance collaboration among stakeholders in the circular economy.
