Sustainability Integration in Management Systems

This document is a case study detailing the partnership between PETROFER and abat to incorporate sustainability aspects into PETROFER's Integrated Management System. The aim was to develop a holistic sustainability management system that meets the increasing demands for sustainability-related information from various stakeholders. The process began with an analysis of existing sustainability initiatives at PETROFER, which revealed that the company had already made significant progress. Workshops were conducted to enhance sustainability knowledge among PETROFER's employees, laying the groundwork for structured sustainability practices. A materiality analysis was performed to identify key sustainability issues through stakeholder dialogues. The project culminated in the integration of sustainability into PETROFER's central management system and proactive adaptation to legal requirements, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. The collaboration with abat has continued, further supporting PETROFER's sustainability efforts and enhancing its confidence in addressing sustainability challenges.
