This case study outlines the partnership between Access and Truman Medical Centers (TMC) to enhance information governance (IG) and records management. TMC faced significant challenges due to decades of disorganized physical records, which hindered timely retrieval and compliance. The collaboration aimed to implement a structured IG program that would streamline processes and reduce operational overhead. Access provided solutions including indexing and cataloging existing records, secure shredding services, and a records management platform. As a result, TMC disposed of approximately 1,000,000 patient records, leading to substantial storage savings and improved efficiency for hospital staff. The partnership enabled TMC to lower document archiving costs and minimize liability while ensuring compliance. The customized searchable database facilitated on-demand access to critical documents, enhancing patient care and operational effectiveness. Overall, the case study illustrates how effective information management can lead to better healthcare delivery.
