This case study outlines how Dunea, a company that produces and distributes drinking water in South Holland, has improved the accessibility of its engineering information throughout the asset lifecycle using Meridian, an Engineering Information Management solution. Dunea faced challenges when the ownership of engineering drawings transitioned from the Engineering Department to the Production and Distribution Departments, necessitating adjustments to Meridian to accommodate this change. The company required the digitization of analog archives and the reconfiguration of workflows to support specific processes within the Distribution Department. By integrating Meridian with Ultimo, Dunea established a direct connection between operational assets and relevant engineering documentation, ensuring that essential documents are readily available for maintenance and other internal departments. The implementation of Meridian has resulted in increased accessibility of engineering information, optimized engineering change processes, and improved collaboration between departments, ultimately enhancing project visibility and operational efficiency.
