Improving Maintenance Management for Asset Utilization

This document is a case study detailing L’Oréal's implementation of Maintenance Connection, a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), to enhance equipment maintenance and mechanic utilization. The objective was to address challenges related to asset downtime and improve the lifespan of equipment across multiple manufacturing facilities in the United States. The case study outlines how L’Oréal faced difficulties in tracking asset health and lacked multi-site reporting capabilities. The solution involved the deployment of Maintenance Connection, which provided unique preventive maintenance schedules and allowed technicians to access information remotely via mobile devices. The results included minimized maintenance costs, reduced equipment breakdowns, improved mechanic utilization, and real-time access to asset information. The case study emphasizes the importance of ease of use to encourage team adoption of the software, ultimately leading to enhanced maintenance performance and operational efficiency.
