This case study documents LHP Capital, LLC's approach to enhancing cybersecurity amidst a reduced IT team, which was downsized from five to two employees. The organization, which manages affordable housing across 13 states and oversees 14,700 apartment units, faced significant challenges in maintaining effective cybersecurity. Their previous solution, Webroot, was inadequate for their growing security needs, particularly due to increased risks from third-party interactions. Following a significant cyber breach at a local competitor, LHP recognized the urgent need for a proactive cybersecurity strategy. They opted for ActZero, which aligned with their IT department’s principles of being Simple, Supportable, and Secure. The implementation of ActZero allowed LHP to effectively manage cybersecurity operations with their limited staff. Regular meetings with a Technical Account Manager and a user-friendly portal provided visibility into security improvements, enabling LHP to focus on critical issues while enhancing their overall security posture.
