This case study outlines Adeptia's contribution to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing an AI-driven workflow that facilitated the integration of disparate data sources. The NIH aimed to flatten the epidemic curve by analyzing patient-level data to understand the disease's progression and treatment effectiveness. The challenge involved collecting and normalizing data from various labs and health organizations across the United States, which was in different formats and terminologies. To address this, the NIH established the National COVID-19 Cohort Collaborative (N3C) to harmonize clinical and diagnostic data. Adeptia's solution enabled the transformation of this data into a standardized format, allowing for rapid access and analysis by researchers. The final database created through this process is the largest collection of COVID-19 patient data in the U.S., supporting advanced analytics and machine learning to inform public health decisions and strategies.
