This case study details the implementation of UltraVolt's high voltage power supplies in an automated mass spectrometry microbial identification system. The system utilizes Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Time-of-Flight (MALDI-TOF) technology, recognized for its efficiency and accuracy in identifying microorganisms. The challenge addressed was the need for compact 125V and 1000V DC-to-DC power supplies with enhanced ripple and noise reduction. UltraVolt's A Series was selected for its ability to meet these specifications, providing precise control and monitoring of high voltage output. The case study outlines the importance of long-term product support and technical assistance, which were crucial for the customer's expedited development cycle. The results indicate that UltraVolt's solutions not only met the technical requirements but also contributed to the customer achieving AOAC approval, establishing a competitive advantage in the market. The collaboration with contract manufacturers further solidified the reliability of the power supply solution.
