Duct Sealing Case Study for Nemours Children's Clinic

This case study details the duct sealing project at Nemours Children's Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, aimed at improving HVAC air flow and reducing the spread of germs through leaks in the HVAC ductwork. The project, executed by Aeroseal Southeast and Carrier Corporation, focused on sealing the air duct system of the 11-story outpatient medical facility. Prior to the intervention, the clinic experienced 4,912 CFM of leakage, which was reduced to 723 CFM after sealing. The results included an 85% reduction in leakage, enhanced air flow throughout the facility, and a significant decrease in the risk of airborne infections. The sealing process took less than 30 days and allowed for better analysis and optimization of the exhaust system. The clinic also benefited from reduced energy costs due to improved fan efficiency and decreased ventilation load. This case study illustrates the effectiveness of Aeroseal duct sealing in healthcare settings.
