This document is a technical report detailing the sealing of exhaust air and exhaust air kitchen pipes at the Franziskus Hospital in Vienna. The objective of the sealing process was to achieve air tightness class C, in compliance with ÖNorm H6030 and EN 16282 standards. The report outlines the challenges faced during the renovation of the kitchen ventilation system, particularly the limited space that hindered proper installation of air ducts. To address potential leakages and odor issues, the Aeroseal process was employed after the initial installation. The executing company, Ing. August Lengauer GmbH & Co. KG, sealed all air duct connections with sheet metal plates and connected the sealing device to the pipe network. A pre-sealing leakage measurement indicated significant leakages of nearly 400 l/s, which were effectively reduced by 95.2% through the Aeroseal process, resulting in all exhaust air lines achieving air tightness class D after sealing.
