This research brief presents findings from a study evaluating the effectiveness of My Reading Academy, an adaptive, game-based curriculum aimed at enhancing early reading skills among prekindergarten and kindergarten students. Conducted in collaboration with an independent research organization, the study involved a quasi-experimental design comparing students who used the program with those who did not. Key findings indicate that kindergartners utilizing My Reading Academy significantly outperformed their peers on state-administered literacy assessments, particularly in Alphabet Knowledge. The program was especially beneficial for students with lower baseline literacy skills, with a high percentage of prekindergarteners mastering Alphabet Knowledge content. The study also highlights the positive feedback from teachers regarding the program's impact on specific literacy skills, advocating for its continued use in classrooms. The research meets ESSA standards for evidence, contributing to the understanding of effective early literacy instructional tools in the context of varying student needs.
