This case study details the implementation of the Dako Omnis system in the Pathology Department at the University of Tsukuba Hospital to enhance immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows. The hospital faced challenges due to a 27% increase in IHC cases over two years, leading to increased overtime and processing bottlenecks. The introduction of Dako Omnis allowed for automated staining processes and continuous case processing, significantly improving throughput. With the new workflow, the average processing time was reduced from 10.5 hours to 6-8 hours, and average monthly overtime decreased by 19%. The DakoLink software integration streamlined labeling processes, reducing the risk of errors. The study concludes that the Dako Omnis not only improved efficiency but also maintained the quality of staining, allowing the lab to handle a greater workload without compromising diagnostic accuracy.
