This research report assesses the status of Interprofessional Education (IPE) at Canadian post-secondary institutions. It aims to identify trends, strengths, needs, and future directions of IPE within these institutions. The methodology includes an environmental scan of web pages related to IPE and interviews with key representatives from various colleges and universities across Canada. The findings reveal that IPE is offered at 102 institutions, categorized into programs, courses, and events/workshops. The report details the definitions of IPE as provided by faculty and staff, highlighting explicit and implicit definitions sourced from recognized organizations such as the World Health Organization. The report concludes with a discussion on the implications of these findings and outlines next phases for assessing the impact of IPE in healthcare and community settings, as well as evaluating the preparedness of former students for practice.
