This technical report outlines the collaboration between Akselos and Shell to extend the operational life of fixed platforms in the Southern North Sea. The asset, which has been in production for 50 years, is projected to have its life extended by an additional 20 years. The report details the challenges faced by Shell in operating these platforms beyond their original design life while ensuring safety and sustainability. Akselos utilized its Integra solution to create a digital twin of the platform, providing advanced insights into the structural integrity and life of the asset. The model developed through this collaboration offers a physics-based approach to Finite Element Analysis, enhancing the understanding of the platform's real structural life. This initiative is part of a broader effort to optimize inspection and maintenance processes, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve fatigue monitoring for the asset.
