Improving Motorcycle Aerodynamics with Fairing Design

This case study details a student diploma project aimed at improving motorcycle aerodynamics through fairing design. The project team, in collaboration with Altair, utilized tools like Altair Virtual Wind Tunnel™ and ultraFluidX™ to analyze and optimize fairing concepts for reduced aerodynamic drag. The study highlights the challenges faced in design, simulation setup, and validation of aerodynamic performance, showcasing the effectiveness of virtual simulations over physical testing.
