This case study details the implementation and impact of the Ambry CARE Program® at Midstate Radiology Associates (MRA), a radiology group in Connecticut. MRA, which performs over 500,000 exams annually, faced challenges in high-risk breast cancer screening due to reliance on paper forms for collecting family histories. This led to incomplete data and difficulties in adhering to genetic testing guidelines. In 2021, MRA launched the CARE program across 15 centers, introducing features such as universal breast cancer risk scores and streamlined digital history collection. The program has enhanced workflows, improved practice productivity, and identified more high-risk patients through automated assessments. Results from the program indicate significant increases in the number of patients eligible for genetic testing and improvements in breast cancer risk management. The case study emphasizes the transformative effects of the CARE program on patient care and the importance of a digital-first strategy in healthcare.
