This technical report presents a study that analyzes the proficiency projection of Istation’s Indicators of Progress (ISIP) Reading in relation to the NWEA MAP Reading assessments for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The study includes a sample of 28,264 students from four school districts across California, New Mexico, and Texas during the 2021-2022 school year. It details the correlation between ISIP and NWEA MAP scores, indicating strong relationships with Pearson correlations ranging from 0.59 to 0.83. The report outlines the classification accuracy of ISIP in predicting ELA proficiency on the NWEA MAP, with approximately 79% accuracy at the middle of the year (MOY) and 76% at the end of the year (EOY). The methodology section describes the assessments used, including the computer-adaptive testing algorithm of ISIP and the vertical scaling of NWEA MAP. The findings are intended to assist educators in preparing students for the NWEA MAP Reading assessments.
