This research article evaluates the impact of the Istation Reading curriculum on student performance in the New Mexico Measures of Student Success and Achievement (NM-MSSA) English Language Arts (ELA) assessment. The study utilizes data from six school districts during the 2021–2022 academic year, focusing on students in grades 3 to 5. A hierarchical linear model was employed to analyze the relationship between Istation usage and NM-MSSA ELA scores, controlling for socioeconomic status and initial performance levels. Findings indicate that students in grades 4 and 5 who adhered to recommended usage guidelines demonstrated significant score improvements on the NM-MSSA ELA, while results for grade 3 were not statistically significant. The article outlines the methodology, including the assessment tools used, the demographic composition of the sample, and the analytical approach taken to derive these conclusions. The results suggest that appropriate usage of the Istation curriculum can enhance reading achievement as measured by state assessments.
