This technical report evaluates the impact of the Istation Reading curriculum on student performance in the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) Reading assessments. The study analyzes data from five school districts during the 2021-22 school year, focusing on the relationship between Istation usage and STAAR scores across grades 3 to 8. The report outlines the methodology, including the use of a hierarchical linear model to control for socioeconomic status, and presents findings that indicate significant improvements in STAAR scores for students who adhered to recommended Istation usage guidelines. Specifically, students who met or exceeded these guidelines showed notable increases in their STAAR scores, with variations observed across different grades. The report also discusses the demographic characteristics of the sample and the correlation between Istation assessments and STAAR performance, emphasizing the importance of consistent usage of the Istation curriculum for enhancing reading achievement.
