This case study details the literacy improvement efforts of Texas' Aldine Independent School District (ISD) following the implementation of Amplify’s early literacy suite. Initially, only 30% of third-grade students were reading at or above grade level. The district adopted the Science of Reading approach and integrated Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts, mCLASS, and Boost Reading into their curriculum. Over two years, the percentage of students reading at grade level increased to 50%. The case study outlines the background of Aldine ISD, including the challenges faced prior to the curriculum change and the formation of a Literacy Task Force led by Dr. Todd Davis. The task force collaborated with The New Teacher Project to shift the district's literacy approach. The study emphasizes the importance of professional development for teachers and the positive impact of the new curriculum on student engagement and literacy outcomes. Aldine ISD's commitment to ongoing training and sharing their experiences with other educators is also highlighted.
