This research article examines the critical issues of nurse turnover and burnout within Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), emphasizing the transformative role of technology in addressing these challenges. The paper discusses the significant impact of high turnover rates and burnout on staff well-being and patient care. It outlines factors contributing to nurse burnout, such as workload, emotional exhaustion, and inadequate support systems in NICUs. The study highlights the increasing nurse turnover rates post-COVID-19, raising concerns about patient care quality and safety. The analysis includes discussions on the ethical dilemmas faced by NICU staff, the trauma of dealing with critically ill infants, and the importance of effective communication between nurses and parents. The paper also presents AngelEye Health’s Family Engagement Platform as a technological intervention aimed at improving nurse well-being and optimizing workflow efficiency while enhancing family engagement and support in NICUs. This approach is posited as essential for addressing the challenges of nurse turnover and burnout.
