This technical report presents a simulation-based decision support framework aimed at optimizing line balancing in the garment industry under demand uncertainty. The study utilizes Discrete Event Simulation (DES) to model various operational scenarios, focusing on the line balancing technique to enhance resource utilization and production efficiency. The report outlines the challenges faced by the ready-made garment (RMG) sector, including rapid production cycles, global competition, and the need for cost-effectiveness. It emphasizes the importance of balancing workloads to prevent bottlenecks and improve overall productivity. The simulation was developed using AnyLogic software, and the results demonstrate its effectiveness in reducing idle time and increasing output. A case study is included to evaluate the outcomes of the proposed framework, showcasing its application in a fictitious T-shirt manufacturing scenario. The findings indicate that effective line balancing can significantly enhance operational efficiency and support manufacturers in maintaining competitiveness in a dynamic market.
