This case study details the implementation of Ikigii, a digital wallet developed by Towerbank to integrate traditional banking with cryptocurrency services. Towerbank, established in 1971 and headquartered in Panama City, faced challenges due to clients using credit cards to purchase crypto, which posed risks of fraudulent transactions and potential defaults. To address these issues, the bank aimed to create a secure and regulated bridge between traditional banking and digital assets. The Ikigii platform utilizes Appian's technology to streamline the onboarding process, automate workflows, and ensure compliance with regulations. The results include rapid onboarding capabilities, with 96% of processes automated, and significant user growth, with a ninefold increase in the app's user base year-over-year. The case study emphasizes that the innovations introduced through Ikigii extend beyond cryptocurrency, enhancing the overall customer experience in traditional banking operations as well.
