This technical report outlines the successful demolition of the Northern Producer at Kishorn Port, Scotland, which took place on June 12, 2024. The project achieved zero HSE Lost Time Incidents (LTI) or reportables, marking a significant milestone in UK decommissioning projects. The Northern Producer, originally a drilling rig converted into a floating production facility, presented unique challenges due to its substantial size and location. The report details the meticulous planning required for its decommissioning. ASI utilized Extreme Loading for Structures (ELS) software for high-fidelity engineering analyses to predict the structure's nonlinear behavior during collapse. Liberty Industrial's demolition team employed these analyses to effectively manage debris dispersion and control debris height. The report further discusses the evaluation of optimal cut locations and dimensions, ensuring a controlled collapse direction. Engineering analyses predicted the impact location and vibrations, which were consistent with actual measurements, demonstrating the effectiveness of the collaborative efforts between Liberty Industrial and ASI.
