Revamping Backend Infrastructure for Fintech Organization

This technical report outlines the project undertaken by the Apptread team to revamp the backend infrastructure for Payfare, a Canada-based global FinTech organization. The client aimed to enhance immediate access to earnings by moving away from a weekly payment system and implementing a zero-cost payout solution. Key objectives included integrating with various vendors to provide a consolidated banking experience and enabling employees to choose their preferred payout methods and timing. The report details the development of applications and SDKs to facilitate instant access to earnings, alongside the implementation of a scalable, microservices-based architecture. The technology stack utilized includes Python, Flask, SQL Database, CI/CD Pipelines, Jenkins, Docker, AWS Cloud Services, and Kotlin. The report also highlights the benefits achieved, such as an efficient payout process, elimination of manual reconciliation tasks, and increased labor hours through expedited payout options.
