This case study details the operational challenges faced by Albini & Pitigliani S.p.A. (ALPI), an international freight forwarding and logistics company. The company aimed to modernize and standardize its processes across fifty branches, which were operating with different technologies. Key objectives included improving efficiency, reducing errors, and enhancing customer satisfaction. The study outlines the significant obstacles encountered, such as high error rates in fulfillment processes and communication gaps between IT and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). To address these challenges, ALPI implemented Apromore’s process mining platform, which included process mapping, dashboard development for tracking key performance indicators, and identifying automation opportunities. The iterative approach involved collaboration with SMEs to improve processes continuously. The results of these efforts included a 75% reduction in fulfillment errors, a 20% increase in customer satisfaction, and a 15% increase in sales. The study concludes that the transformation led to enhanced data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
