Route Optimisation System Development Update

This report is a technical update on the Route Optimisation project initiated by Argyll and Bute Council. The project aims to enhance the efficiency of cyclic activities such as bin collection through the implementation of a Route Optimisation system. The system is designed to model various service delivery options more rapidly than traditional methods, allowing for adjustments in response to operational challenges. The report outlines the project's progress, including the appointment of Webaspx, now part of Routeware, as the software provider. It details the capabilities of the Routeware system, including modules for route optimisation, digital depot management, and in-cab technology. The report also discusses the initial focus on bin collection and the anticipated benefits in terms of efficiency and reduced carbon emissions.
