This case study outlines the implementation of robotic process automation (RPA) at the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation (RMPF), a nonprofit organization that faced challenges due to rapid growth and outdated manual accounting processes. RMPF partnered with Armanino's Strategy and Transformation team to streamline operations and reduce manual data entry. The foundation's transition involved the implementation of Sage Intacct for financial management and Concur for expense management. The RPA projects focused on investment analysis and grantmaking software integration, significantly reducing the workload for senior accountants. The investment analysis RPA automated the extraction and processing of financial statements, while the grantmaking software integration improved data synchronization between systems. As a result, RMPF experienced time savings, reduced human error, and cost efficiencies by eliminating the need for additional full-time employees. The case study highlights the positive impact of automation on staff morale and operational efficiency, enabling RMPF to focus on its core mission of grantmaking.
