This case study details the implementation of Armis Centrix™ for Asset Management and Security at Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW). The utility company, which serves over 440,000 customers, faced challenges in gaining visibility into its IT and IoT assets, resulting in unmanaged and rogue devices on the network. To address these issues, MLGW integrated Armis Centrix™, which provided a comprehensive inventory of assets and enhanced vulnerability management. The implementation led to the discovery of over 13,000 assets, significantly more than the previously recorded 5,600. The platform's integration with 11 security solutions improved threat detection and incident response times, reducing troubleshooting from 45 minutes to just 2 minutes. The case study also highlights the training provided to MLGW staff, which has enhanced their technical capabilities and allowed for real-time monitoring of equipment across departments. Future plans include extending Armis capabilities to secure operational technology environments, ensuring compliance and protection against cyber threats.
