Alabama A&M University Event Center Case Study

This case study details the architectural design and ceiling solutions implemented for the Alabama A&M University Event Center located in Huntsville, AL. The project aimed to create a multi-purpose venue that would host various events, including sports and community gatherings. The architectural team selected a variety of ceiling types, including WoodWorks® DesignFlex™ Shapes and Optima® DesignFlex Shapes, to enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of the space. The ceilings were designed to provide a contemporary feel while incorporating traditional wood elements. The project also included the use of Arktura Vapor Dense ceiling panels in locker rooms and hallways, which feature unique perforated designs for visual appeal. The installation process involved collaboration with Dixie Acoustical Contractors and utilized Armstrong's ProjectWorks® service for comprehensive design support. The case study highlights the challenges faced and the solutions provided to achieve a welcoming and visually striking environment that reflects the university's image.
