This case study details the implementation of a digital workplace solution for B. Braun Melsungen AG, a global healthcare corporation. The project was initiated by CIO Gerd Niehage as part of an IT realignment strategy in 2017, aiming to enhance collaboration among the company's nearly 64,000 employees across 64 countries. Arvato Systems was commissioned to develop a unified collaboration and communication platform utilizing Microsoft Office 365 and NAVOO. The solution was designed to streamline communication and improve efficiency while ensuring compliance with regional regulations. The implementation process began on April 1, 2019, and was completed by September 17, 2019. Key features of NAVOO included document models, site templates, and self-service options, allowing employees to manage their processes independently. The project resulted in significant reductions in application numbers, optimized processes, and adherence to governance and security requirements, showcasing the effectiveness of the digital workplace in supporting global collaboration.
