This case study outlines the project undertaken by Ashtead Technology to deliver a topside pull-in winch package for an eight well development in the Gulf of Mexico. The project involved the fabrication and machining of over 400 tonnes of steel, customized to meet specific customer requirements for maximum efficiency and durability. The solution included two ACE 500 Tonne Linear Winch packages along with frameworks, flagging sheaves, and spooling systems. The in-house engineering team leveraged their extensive project experience to design and fabricate bespoke equipment that met the customer's exact specifications. The testing facility enabled the replication of onsite configurations to ensure all equipment packages were thoroughly tested before mobilization. The project management team and offshore personnel facilitated smooth installation, leading to successful pull-in operations with design loads exceeding 350 tonnes, including various types of steel catenary risers and umbilicals.
