This case study documents the implementation of an integrated asset management software solution by Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) to enhance the management of its extensive park system, which includes over 400 parks and natural areas. The study outlines the challenges faced by SPR due to the lack of integration between existing work order and asset management systems, leading to inefficiencies and duplicate efforts. The case study details the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, during which SPR identified specific requirements for the new system, such as ease of navigation and integration capabilities. Ultimately, SPR selected AssetWorks Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software as the most suitable solution. The case study also highlights the positive feedback received regarding the support provided by AssetWorks post-implementation, emphasizing the importance of reliable technical assistance. Additionally, it discusses the initial deployment of nearly 20,000 assets into the EAM system and the future plans for implementing the Capital Planning Module.
