This case study details the experience of the Quality Assurance for Duke Vaccine Immunogenicity Programs (QADVIP) at Duke University as they transitioned to a new Quality Management System (QMS) using AssurX. The document outlines the challenges faced by the QADVIP team, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which necessitated a shift from a legacy paper-based system to a more efficient electronic process. The previous QMS was inadequate for managing the increasing complexity of projects and regulatory compliance requirements. The case study describes how AssurX was selected for its configurability and cost-effectiveness, allowing for better management of document workflows and employee training. It highlights improvements in efficiency, visibility, and the ability to automate labor-intensive tasks. The QADVIP team has successfully implemented several AssurX solutions and is currently migrating additional modules to enhance their operations further. The document concludes with insights on the importance of flexibility in QMS solutions for organizations with complex requirements.
