Service Optimisation of Prostate Cancer Therapy Pathway

This document is a report detailing a collaborative working project between Astellas Pharma Ltd and St Luke’s Cancer Centre, Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, aimed at optimizing the Prostate Cancer Oral Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) pathway. The objective is to conduct a service review of the Prostate Cancer Oral SACT Novel Hormone Therapy pathway in partnership with Astellas Pharma Ltd and Bionical Solutions Ltd. The report outlines the significant burden of new prostate cancer cases on NHS capacity, with 48,500 patients diagnosed annually. The project aims to identify and resolve inefficiencies, delays, and bottlenecks in the service delivery, ultimately improving patient well-being and service efficiency.
