Building Sustainable and Resilient Health Systems

This report is a technical document that presents key findings from the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR) initiative. It outlines the challenges faced by health systems globally, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has exposed vulnerabilities and accelerated existing stresses. The report emphasizes the need for health systems to be both sustainable and resilient, addressing multiple crises such as climate change, economic instability, and the rise of non-communicable diseases. It details the PHSSR's assessments conducted in 16 countries, highlighting governance, financing, workforce, medicines and technology, service delivery, population health, and environmental sustainability as critical domains for improvement.
