This document is a case study detailing the development of Veritrek software by Redwire Space, which enhances the exploration, verification, and improvement of thermal designs. The software utilizes advanced techniques to convert high-fidelity Thermal Desktop models into accurate reduced-order models (ROMs). The case study outlines the collaboration between ATA Engineering and Redwire Space, highlighting the creation of custom software that leverages the Thermal Desktop application programming interface (API) for efficient design space interrogation and sampling. Key tasks performed include the development of software tools for querying thermal design parameters, generating high-fidelity models, executing simulations, and integrating a graphical user interface for user convenience. The case study also discusses the support provided to Redwire Space in marketing efforts, particularly through the presentation of results at NASA’s Thermal and Fluids Analysis Workshop, where the ROM's capability to identify optimal radiator designs for satellite electronics was showcased.
