This case study details Skyscanner's efforts to enhance data accuracy and consistency through the implementation of AtScale. Skyscanner, a major player in the online travel industry, faced challenges with inconsistent data reports generated by tools such as Tableau and Excel. The company required a solution that would provide business users with direct access to the Delta Lake on Databricks and support multidimensional data analysis in the cloud. To address these challenges, Skyscanner transitioned from SQL Server Analysis Services to a more scalable technology that could improve query performance and data consistency. The partnership with AtScale allowed for the creation of a universal semantic layer that standardized metrics and KPIs across various BI tools. As a result, Skyscanner achieved consistent data query results and reduced the time-to-insights, ultimately fostering greater collaboration and innovation among departments.
