This document is a case study detailing the National Training Register Enhancement Project undertaken by Atturra for the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) in Australia. The project aimed to modernize the National Training Register, which serves as the authoritative source for Nationally Recognised Training and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across the country. The enhancements were necessary to address outdated functionalities of the existing website, training.gov.au, which failed to meet user expectations for search and navigation. The new platform features improved user experience, enhanced search capabilities, and a cloud-native application built on .NET 8 and Microsoft Azure. Key outcomes include user-friendly navigation, downloadable reports, and a modernized content management system. The project involved collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Jobs and Skills Councils, to ensure that user requirements were met through an agile development process. The upgraded site was released on October 23rd, 2024, and has received positive feedback from users regarding its usability.
