This case study details the implementation of Author-it by LIGHTN to enhance policy publishing efficiency across various educational and healthcare sectors in New Zealand. Since its inception in 2006, LIGHTN has expanded its services to over 2,300 schools, 300 general practices, and early childhood education centers. The previous publishing model was inadequate for scaling, requiring approximately 10 hours to publish content across four machines. In response to increasing compliance demands and the need for a more agile system, LIGHTN redesigned its content delivery process. By integrating Author-it as the central knowledge engine, the publishing time was significantly reduced to under 40 minutes. This transformation allowed for greater control, visibility of policy updates, and improved auditability. The case study outlines the collaborative efforts of the LIGHTN team and Segue Consulting in defining requirements and developing a scalable architecture that supports multiple products and markets, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency.
