This case study presents the physical security assessment conducted by Avalon for a law firm in the Midwest. The law firm requested an evaluation of its physical security infrastructure and an internal penetration test to assess the effectiveness of existing security measures and identify vulnerabilities. Avalon, noted for its experienced penetration testers, engaged in a straightforward approach to test the security system. The strategy included informal interviewing to gather information and tailgating to gain unauthorized access to secure areas. Over several hours, operatives successfully infiltrated two private floors of the client's headquarters before one was discovered. The assessment concluded with the operatives leaving evidence of the breach and successfully compromising the client’s internal network. The results provided the law firm with critical information to enhance the security of their data and that of their clients. This assessment underscores the importance of testing physical security protocols and vulnerability assessments in maintaining organizational security.
